Hydraulic dampers and gas-hydraulic buffers are widely used in portside equipment to manage dynamic forces, improve safety, and enhance operational efficiency. Common applications include cranes and lifting equipment, Mooring and Fender Systems, Conveyor systems, Dry Dock Gates etc.

Dellner Dampers is a world leading company for supplying damping products, such as buffers to absorb energy when stopping a moving mass safely. The HYBUFF G-series, are gas hydraulic energy absorbers, originally designed for use in port side cranes. The HYBUFF are widely used in ports – either as part of a ship-to-shore (STS) or rail mounted gantry (RMG) crane or as an end stop for yard cranes. The HYBUFF will protect the operator and structure in the event of an involuntary impact.

When fitted to container spreaders, our buffers protect the hydraulic system and help reduce noise. The Hybuff-series are available in four base designs with customized characteristic, depending on the moving mass. As sprung from the rail industry, large masses and forces are common for us and customized solutions up to Fmax 1500kN are available.

In each and all cases, we simulate the individual scenario to ensure that the optimal solution is delivered.

Depending on impact from surrounding environment and installation complexity, the buffers can be supplied with different materials, alloys and corrosion protection coatings. Always tuned, manufactured and tested to provide the correct and optimal energy absorbing property required for the assignment.

The operational function of the buffers has also been tested and verified at different temperatures from -40°C to + 60°C and will comply with the required local demands.
