Our modular platform has evolved over the decades and continues to do so. We understand that everyone’s needs are different. That’s how we at Dellner Dampers help build a resilient society: protecting lives and critical infrastructure by dampening movement created by high winds, earthquakes – or sometimes, human error. We increase the performance, safety and comfort in applications serving millions of people around the world. Wherever there is movement there will be a need to absorb kinetic energy or vibration. Company background
Our journey began in the 1960s within the railway industry, where we started producing train dampers for the Swedish engineering firm ASEA. By the 1990s, we had expanded our expertise to supply dampers and buffers for a wide range of industrial applications. Operating under the name Precima from 1993 until 2003, we then became part of Dellner Couplers—a global leader in Train Connection Systems. Dellner Couplers, headquartered in Falun, Sweden, is renowned for designing, manufacturing, and servicing train connection systems, including couplers, gangways, dampers, and crash energy management components. With over 1,200 employees across 22 subsidiaries worldwide, the company serves more than 200 customers globally. Dellner Dampers product portfolio encompasses hydraulic dampers, buffers, crash energy management (CEM) components, deformation tubes, and honeycomb elements, all integral to enhancing the safety and efficiency of rail operations.
Working worldwide
Dellner Dampers’ products are used across the globe in rail, industrial and engineering applications by many of the world’s leading manufacturers – for example, you’ll find our dampers and buffers in train, tram and metro bogies, car and coach bodies, bridges, ship-to-shore cranes, container spreaders, wind turbines and crash test rigs. Our extensive service network also spreads across the globe, so we’re never far away if you need to take advantage of our maintenance and overhaul skills.

We’re certified according to ISO 9001 and IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard – ISO 22163:2023), a globally recognised quality management system for the railway industry, and we work hard to ensure that our products play a major part in keeping people safe.
